Response to field notes

For the movie I watched about my culture I do not feel that it was too informative compared to the information I will receive when I visit my actual site. I noticed that my views were similar to what I though they would be within that culture. I feel that there was nothing too surprising to me just yet and hopefully my mind will change once I take more field notes from Lucky Rabbit. The information that I kind of assumed that was on the movie was the people's passion towards the art. Each person had a story about each specific tattoo and loved the idea and thought behind it.

answer to Week 3 blog question

The place I have chosen to do my subculture is Lucky Rabbit. It is a tattoo parlor west on Mcgalliard that also does piercings. If I were to stop someone and ask them what they thought I think that they would either be supportive or maybe even grossed out. I think the people who know of this place knows that it is a clean good business place. But someone who does not know this tattoo parlor may think of some nasty sanction to get ink permanently tattooed on your skin, which some people are against. I think that anyone who wants to get a tattoo and goes to this parlor to get one and also people getting piercings and the employees and staff that help with the tattoo parlor.

Agree or Disagree with Personality Test

I agree for the most part because it is like a scale that you just maybe prefer more on one side than the other. At first when Ms. Caswell asked if we liked to go out after a long week or stay in I said that I definitely go both ways on that. Also I am sometimes not very social, but then sometimes I can be. So I think it could go either way, but I mainly agree with my results for the Personality test.

Jung Typology Test

ESFJ was my four letter code.

Week 2 Blog Question Responce

I think the biggest factor for me deciding a culture/subculture to explore would be that of one I do not know much about. I want to pick a culture that is looked at as being very different and be able to explain to others or see for myself how differently it is than what it is seen by others. The only problem is that I have no clue which culture to pick not one specific culture pops into my head so I am not sure how I will find that culture I want to explore. I want the culture to be a small group that is out casted from the larger society group.

Box 11

I would choose a tattoo parlor because I have a couple myself and find it interesting. Although most people have an image of people with body covering tattoos walking around and an unsafe environment that is completely false. The two parlors I have been to the people are very nice helpful and do not rush you or try to convert you to what they are. My position would be welcoming of the parlor and understanding just because I have had experience with this subculture.

Box 2

A routine that I have to have is exercise. I think the reason I need to do it is because I cannot stand to sit around for hours so I need to be active. Another reason I exercise is because it makes me feel much better about myself and makes me feel better and in shape. I try to do it everyday before noon. If I dont go at least once a day for some reason I just feel like I am lazy and I hate the thought of myself being a lazy couch potato.
