Week 9 blog question

I think my contribution to my community is positive attributes that help its image. I am sick of people looking at people with tattoos badly, so I have come up with a research question that handles this. I think that when people think of tattooed people they think of deviant behavior. But there are many situations that I plan to discuss with people who may belong or be an outsider, they may not know. With these positive attributes it will help show that the community is not associated with bad people.

Thats really cool that your trying to change perceptions about people with tattoos. I totally agree with you in the fact that people are viewd as deviants or breaking cultural norms whn they have tattos on their bodies. In my own opionion it really depends on the person. Some people just get tattoos to get them. I mean that they are placed with little consideration on their bodies and mean abolutley nothing, I think these are the people that bother main stream cultures. The other types are the ones who get stuff on their bodies which means something to them, like a families initials or representation of a lost friend. Those people usually take care in trying to keep them hidden from most people becuase it is more of a private thing.

i agree with you and your positive contribution to the body modification group. I think people prejudge others with tattoos before they even learn what they tattoo is about. Many people have tattoos as a memory of a lose and i agree they should not be looked at as a bad person because they have a tat. Good luck hopefully you break any stereotypes one would have about people with tattoos.
